London → Spain
Removals from London to Spain
The busiest UK-to-Europe corridor. A long haul south — across France to the Spanish border, or the Bay of Biscay ferry to shorten the road leg into the Costas.
The route
Why this move
from London.
Spain is the most popular European move of all, and from London there are two sensible ways to run it. The overland route goes across France on the autoroute network and into Spain at La Jonquera for the Mediterranean side or Irún for the Atlantic and the central plateau. The sea route takes the Portsmouth-to-Bilbao or Santander ferry, trading a longer crossing for a much shorter Spanish road leg — often the better call for a Costa del Sol or southern delivery. Either way, the London end is timed to your street and your building.
The moves we run from London to Spain fall into the professional cities and the coastal lifestyle. Madrid and Barcelona draw the working relocations — finance, tech, the international corporate world — while the Costa Blanca around Alicante and the Costa del Sol around Málaga and Marbella draw the retirement and second-home moves that make Spain the volume corridor it is. Valencia sits in between, pulling both. Our job is to get you out of London cleanly, at whatever hour the move needs, and see it through to the Spanish address.
Post-Brexit, a Spanish move needs a customs declaration, and we keep it plain. Change-of-residence relief (cambio de residencia) covers used household goods on a genuine move, filed against your Spanish paperwork and a detailed inventory. Two Spanish-side steps anchor it — your NIE and, in many cases, the empadronamiento — and those are yours to complete; our filing supports the relief so nothing is stranded in customs.
Where we deliver
Destinations across Spain.
Madrid
Finance, corporate and government-adjacent moves. Central apartment blocks with a portería often set the delivery rules; the outskirts are simpler.
Barcelona
Tech, design and the international corporate belt. Eixample access varies; the Gothic Quarter and Born are tight and often need a smaller vehicle.
Valencia & the Costa Blanca
A growing professional set plus the Alicante, Jávea and Dénia lifestyle belt — villa and urbanización access is generally good, with gated-community rules to note.
Costa del Sol (Málaga, Marbella)
The retirement and second-home heartland, best served via the Bilbao or Santander ferry to shorten the Spanish leg. Hillside and gated access worth flagging.
Alicante & Murcia
Expat and retirement volume across the southern Costa Blanca and Costa Cálida; routine urbanización deliveries.
Seville & the interior
Andalusian city and inland moves, with narrow historic-centre access handled by planning the final mile.
Customs, handled
No “sort it
at the border.”
Spain is outside the UK, so a move needs a customs declaration on both sides. We prepare the UK export side before the vehicle leaves London and the Spanish import side on arrival. Change-of-residence relief (cambio de residencia) covers used household goods on a genuine move, filed against your Spanish paperwork and a signed inventory. Your NIE (foreigner’s identity number) and, in many cases, the empadronamiento (town-hall registration) are steps you complete in Spain; our filing supports the relief rather than obtaining them for you.
Worth thinking about
Whether the overland route or the Bilbao/Santander ferry suits your destination — the ferry cuts the Spanish road leg and is often better for the Costa del Sol and the south.
The London collection hour — a busy street, a lift booking or a loading window may point to an evening or weekend collection, which we can do.
Your NIE status — the change-of-residence relief leans on it and often the empadronamiento, so having them in hand or a clear timeline helps the customs side close.
